The sequel to the PlayStation Vita Gravity Rush (which also got a port to the PlayStation 4) isn’t a promising title – on the handheld anymore, as it’s coming to the PS4.
After delaying The Last Guardian to December, Sony decided to push Gravity Rush 2 over to January 2017, but Keiichiro Toyama and his team are already done with the development. (And yet, we have two months until the release…) The extra time was used to brush up the animation in the game. It’s also likely that the rest of the two months will be spent on making Gravity Rush 2 run better and on a higher resolution on the PlayStation 4 Pro than on a regular PS4.
If Gravity Rush 2 goes into mass production already, we wouldn’t be surprised if we get a large day-1 patch on January 18 or 20 (EU/US release dates). There’s also a chance of some copies getting stolen, who knows?
Toyama also published a short video on Twitter with Gravity Daze 2, which is the Japanese name of the game. Interesting – Europe gets a Japanese development earlier than the local audience, although the same has happened to the PlayStation 4 itself, too…
