After Crash, Spyro would take a turn.
Spyro, the dragon was one of the household classics on the first PlayStation in the second half of the nineties. The franchise, which started out as a platformer, had three installments on the grey console, and according to Kotaku, Activision would remaster all three titles (Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, Spyro: Year of the Dragon), similarly to last summer’s Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy (developed by Vicarious Visions), which is rumored to launch this year on PC and Switch.
The surprising thought here is that Activision would officially announce the trilogy, rumored to be handled by Vicarious Visions once again, in March, and it would already out in Q3 2018 (between July and September) on PlayStation 4.
There would be a one-year timed exclusivity on PlayStation 4; then the games could be available on other platforms from 2019. The remastered trilogy would get new assets, lighting, animations, cutscenes, as well as a remastered soundtrack, an updated save system, and „some cut content” from the original games.
It’s hard to believe the rumor, but we’ll see if it’s true or not.
