Spider-Man Gets Dethroned In The United Kingdom

On the physical game sales chart, Spider-Man was ruling most of September… but now, a new game took over, despite falling tendencies.

As the United Kingdom is a significant football market, it’s no wonder that FIFA 19 has debuted on the top of the charts. The PlayStation 4 version took the physical sales’ 64%, followed by the Xbox One’s 35, and the Nintendo Switch’ 1 per cent, respectively. (The PlayStation 3/Xbox 360 versions had negligible sales, according to GfK…) Year-on-year, FIFA‘s physical sales have decreased by 25%.

Last week’s top three games all have slid back by one position, which means Spider-Man is second, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is third, and Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy is fourth, respectively. SEGA’s Valkyria Chronicles had a respectable debut at 9th place (Sales per platform: PlayStation 4: 54%, Nintendo Switch: 39% (!), Xbox One: 7%).

So, the physical sales are shrinking in one of the critical locations for the gaming industry, and this tendency has been happening for a long time.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
