Arkane Lyon, the developer behind 2021’s Deathloop, has announced their next project: a video game centred around the iconic vampire hunter Blade!
In addition to confirming the next project, Arkane Lyon also released the first teaser trailer for Marvel’s Blade. Bethesda called it “a mature single-player third-person game” set “in the heart of Paris”.
Arkane, as announced by Marvel Studios, has just begun development on the game, which will tell a new, original story if all is true.
“Marvel’s Blade game will take players to a quarantined section of Paris in the middle of a supernatural emergency,” reads the synopsis. “Vampires have emerged, terrorizing the city of lights and forcing Parisians to shelter inside their homes at night to wait for sunrise.”
This is the second vampire-themed game from Arkane Studios, following 2023’s Redfall. Arkane Austin created the latter and, to be honest, wasn’t an undisputed success. But the Lyon studio has yet to prove itself. This will be their first foray into a vampire-slaying action title.
The timing of the news about the new Blade game is impeccable. Because the character also appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The MCU’s Blade “first” flashed off-screen at the end of 2021’s Eternals. The stand-alone film starring Mahershala Ali will hit theatres on November 7, 2025.
