Ghost Of Tsushima: The Mayor Of Tsushima Would Go A Step Further

Hiroki Hitakatsu would like to go beyond his initial plans.

VGC reports that Hitakatsu would like Sucker Punch Productions, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and „game users who were involved in the work” could be appointed as tourism ambassadors. The award-winning PlayStation 4-exclusive has attracted far more attention to Tsushima from all over the world than ever before. Hitakatsu cannot wait for the travelling restrictions to be lifted, as he wants to invite the devs of Ghost of Tsushima to „make them love Tsushima even more.”

Sony Interactive Entertainment and the remote island has already struck a partnership to promote tourism, but unfortunately, the coronavirus global pandemic has thrown a spanner in the works. „Sucker Punch and SIE have considered that because Tsushima is such a remote island, that there are various limitations with medical facility availability, and for those reasons, we all decided to refrain from promoting visitors to come to the island. However, in response to the explosive hit of this work, we heard voices from users from all over the world who wanted to know more about Tsushima, so we proceeded with talks with Sucker Punch Productions and SIE, and we were thinking about what we could do during this time when travel to Japan is restricted,” Hitakatsu said.

A week ago, we already wrote about how two employees were already planned to be promoted as tourism ambassadors: „Nate Fox and Jason Connell, the two directors of the July 2020-launched PlayStation 4-exclusive Ghost of Tsushima, have been crowned permanent tourism ambassadors of Nagasaki’s city of Tsushima. However, due to the coronavirus global pandemic, the ceremony will be held digitally. The pair will be presented the award, and they will also receive a letter of appreciation from the island. Tsushima will also try to work with Sony Interactive Entertainment to launch a new tourism campaign that is based on the game so that the fans are encouraged to discover more of the island and its landmarks.”

Finally, a tweet by Shuhei Yoshida – one of the most known faces of Sony, who is currently the connection between the company and indie developers -, who showed off what he got by Tsushima.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
