MOVIE NEWS – A former government assassin reappears in Code Name Banshee, which hits US cinemas today, July 1, 2022.

Code Name Banshee arrives quietly, almost stealthily, like a real assassin. The story follows a secret CIA conspiracy that threatens Caleb, a former government assassin, with a price on his head. As Caleb learns more and more about the conspiracy with the help of his protégé Banshee, he and his daughter must band together to survive.

Code Name Banshee stars Antonio Banderas, Jaime King, Tommy Flanagan, Kim DeLonghi, Catherine Davis and Dylan Flashner. The film was directed by Jon Keeyes and written by Matthew Rogers.

“They must stick together if they are to survive the secret CIA plot that threatens to destroy them.”

The official synopsis reads, “Caleb (Banderas), a former government assassin in hiding, resurfaces when his protégé, the equally deadly killer known as Banshee (King), discovers a bounty has been placed on Caleb’s head, which the powerful mercenary, Anthony (Flanagan) is now seeking to collect. Caleb and Banshee must put the past behind them and join together one last time, along with Caleb’s daughter, Hailey (Davis) if they are to survive the secret CIA plot that threatens to destroy them.”

As we wrote, Code Name Banshee will be released on July 1, 2022, but before that, the filmmakers have also released a short exclusive clip. We don’t get much of the film’s story from this action-packed short, but we do get a taste of the atmosphere and the fast-paced action we’ve come to expect.
